I teach adults now, but from the time I was 18 'til 19, I taught kids. I never want to teach kids again, not because of kids, but because of girls. Boys loved me, I played with them a lot, got them real tired, they wanted to sit down and do schoolwork. The female teachers would send me their badly behaved or hyper boys so I could get them to behave and work. But I would always need them to help me with the girls. I would always get girls who were bad, they would do things such as threaten me of them accusing me of stuff they invented if I didn't play what they wanted. I didn't pay attention at first, but I would get their parents saying their daugthers said that I said this and that. Some girls would go to the principal and say to him I said things about him I never said. Once, one girl even accused me of hitting her. I know how to handle boys, but girls are different. I don't ever want to teach elementary, but I'm still curious,
How do you handle girls?

Probably you were too young at the time. I'm 27 now, and don't really have any problems with the teenage girls because I'm old enough to be able to look at them with the same athority as the guys. Plus I never accept threats, if some one says anything to intimidate me, then they go straight to the office. So, nobody does anymore.
Oh, but I agree with you. I think the girls normally are worst than the boys. They're much more clever and equally as bad.

I do agree that the girls are more problematic than the boys when they are bad. I have not experienced this problem, but I can find some similarities with my case (I would not describe the circumstances, it would take long). First, have in mind that having an audience means that you can't hide anything (even unpurposly), so it would be better if you don't even try, and if you have any thoughts that you "fight" with, they could be easily sensed by any audience. Little children are just more rude than the older ones on that issue. This is what I do: Make them equal - in every new generation I find a different way. They (the girls) may actually respond to your "fear" from them. (It would be hard with the ones that know you already, but it should be easy with the new ones). As you are buddy with the boys, don't be afraid to be "the good and modern aunt" with the girls. Also don't be afraid to stay alone with any of them, but not on private places. Listen to them and start to follow their responces to your words and gestures. The negativity will be reduced, and you'll diminish the chances of their unifying against you. The very bad girls will be alone and few, with unvalidated voice. Also be straight with them: Ask them questions with "why". But first be sure that it is not you (your words and THOUGHTS) that provoke their hostility. Again, reexamine yourself, your thoughts. Go toward gaining an unquestionable, unambiguous respect from everybody (in every "stair" of the hierarchy).

There is no way, given our current society. I had an ex-wife who was probably one of those girls you talk about. Despite all evidence to the contrary, and evidence that she was abusive to our kids, she still got custody and got me arrested for assault. I was acquitted, but she has committed all sorts of crimes during the divorce, some of them felonies, but even with proof of those felonies, law enforcement did nothing, because she was the poor woman, and VICTIM of the divorce.
Until society changes, the only answer is to not teach them.

Don't think it stops just because you teach adults. Even college Profs. have the problem you describe - female students threatening lawsuits if they don't get an A in a given class. When you are dealing with any female student you must have another person present and have your office door open. Welcome to our overly litigious society.

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT TYPE OF GIRL YOU ARE DEALING WITH IF IT IS THE DISRESPECTFUL SNEAKY MANIPULATIVE TYPE THEN YOU NEED TO TAKE A VERY STERN AUTHORITATIVE APPROACH BUT NOT ALL GIRLS ARE LIKE THAT AND THE ONES THAT ARE USUALLY HAVE A REASON FOR ACTING OUT IT COULD BE ANYTHING FROM LOW SELF ESTEEM TO ABUSE GIRLS ARE MUCH MORE FRAGILE THAN BOYS AND THAT IS PROBABLY WHY YOU HAVE A HARD TIME WITH THEM JUST BE OPEN MINDED AND FAIR TO ALL YOUR STUDENTS AND YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM AND IF ONE SHOULD ARISE WITH A FEMALE STUDENT GET A FEMALE MEDIATOR SO THAT YOU AREN'T WRONGLY ACCUSED OF ANYTHING. GOOD LUCK LITTLE GIRLS CAN GIVE YOU HELL I KNOW I WAS ONE. LOL!!!

I tumble & my coach is male. i admire him & have in no way had a undertaking with him. i actually like him alot greater appropriate than my former lady gymnastics coaches. greater appropriate at recognizing, greater laid decrease back... I even have executed go united states of america & soccer and have purely had male coaches. For the 1st time in my existence, I also have a woman coach (my go united states of america coach). i've got stumbled on with my previous college activities while the coaches have been male, they weren't mean or something, yet they have been merely style of there, you comprehend? It became a touch awkward to speak to them, they have been the varieties in case you handed them contained in the halls at school they in no way mentioned hi, in case you have been the final one at prepare & waiting for a determine, they might wait with you, yet they saved their distance and wouldnt rather say something to you. they weren't mean, yet they have been the type the place you merely werent ever friendly with. My lady coach is outstanding even with the undeniable fact that. i'm VERY close along with her, i'm able to confer along with her, she consistently smiles at as and says hi to us if she walks by contained in the halls, she jokes around with us, and doesnt get mad as quickly as we shaggy dog tale decrease back. If we are the final ones at prepare she waits with us and could actually confer with us. (specifically cases we talk approximately procuring, working, something rather). I even have so lots greater appropriate of a coach/athlete relationship along with her than i've got ever had with any male coach

The best thing you can do is have a teacher's aide in your classroom. That way you would have a witness as to what goes on...
