Don't be afraid to tell him to hold off on the marriage. Take your time

There is no way that he would have stolen a car 5 hours after being enrolled at college if he was a changed man, tell him u would like to hold off the wedding for some time before actually getting married. In the mean time, that ought to give u an idea as to whether he has changed of not.U might also want to give him an ultimatum, either he really changes his ways or u r gone 4 good. Personally, I do not think there is a chance in hell that he has changed.

Well, I think an arrest constitutes sufficient enough of a change that you should be able to discuss it with him. If he enrolled in college it sounds like he is trying to do right, and maybe the arrest was for something that happened before.
If he loves you enough to marry you, you should be able to sit down with him and say "I do want to marry you, but I just can't handle the shady stuff. Tell you what - let's make a plan for 2 years down the road. If we can go for 1 year without any drama, we can then start to plan the wedding."
Peace and good luck!

You don't have to get married right away. Just say you don't want to set a date yet. Explain that you want to see some results before you actually are married, so that you know he really meant it. It's not so hard to quit school and go back to something profitable, even if illegal. If he can't understand that, then tell him that you made a mistake and was in too much awe when he asked. Also, if he's an aggressive guy, you might want to spend more time with your girlfriends so he's not as likely to cause harm in desperation.

It is never to late to change your mind. I would simply say- I am reconsidering my answer to your marriage proposal because your behavior concerns me. Before I can honestly say yes, I need to see some changes. Articulate those changes and give him a time frame like 6 months because anyone can enroll in college but that doesn't mean that they will attend or even be committed. That will give you enough time to see his true colors and make an informed decision

If u have to take the answer back, first think. Answer these questions?
1. Do I want to be with him or sever the relationship?
2. Do I want to marry him LATER or never?
Then talk to him. Be completely honest. It may hurt him deeply but I am sure that you know he will survive. Honesty is the best policy if you have thought it out first. Obviously you are having cold feet now. Maybe you will stay together maybe not.
Good luck and god bless you. Be gentle and let him down with gentle words but MAKE SURE he understands your intentions.

Just have a really-really long engagement. Tell him that a year, long-long from now is the year you have always wanted to get married in. Good luck. Please remember that there are plenty of other fish in the sea (even though it doesn't seem like it) and you deserve to be treated like a princess.

Tell him that recent events have given you reason to rethink your decision, and you are now uncertain if getting married to him is a good idea. This is much easier to do before you are married than after.

just because you are engaged doesn't mean that you have to jump into marriage. Make it a long engagement, if you are willing to wait out his troubles.
Good luck.
