Oh come on now are we really that stupid? Yesterday they found the biggest oil deposit and stocks are rising while fuel prices are dropping. It was old news or better put new propaganda to jump start the Bush legacy. They are in trouble. Everything in this country rides on fuel prices and if there wasn't an important election in 8 weeks I would say it was long over due....

The price is supposed to go down to $2.00 by Thanksgiving, if there are no further disasters.

To the person who thinks if Bush was good at manipulation his approval ratings would be higher. They are high enough with all the horrible things he has done.Higher than any intelligent person would think they would be after what he has done.
I pay 2.85 a gallon for gas and could care less what the price of gas.The price always drops before an election then goes back up. If the price bothers you so much get a better job, drive a smaller car, or walk more often.

All of you people who keep blaming it on the government are nuts. The oil companys are allowing the prices to lower because they want to keep the people in office that give them that much power. Yes the gas prices will go down. They are already 2.49 where I live. Part of it is winter is aproaching and prices do naturally drop but the oil companys use the supposed unsteadyness in the middle east as a fear weapon to make the traders trade the price of crude up way beyond what it is actually worth to supposedly protect their profits in case of a shortage. They wouldnt have that power to do it if another group gets into power that doesnt like big buisness. So like I said before it is the oil companys who want to keep the repubes in office so they can keep their power. IT IS NOT SUPPLY AND DEMAND!

Yes we are going to see a continued drop in gas prices till after the holiday season is over .
I drop in gas will signal people to spend during the holidays that accounts for a nice chunk of change in the retail markets .
January oil futures might be an indication of what is to come after the first of the year .

Ok. Gas prices aren't determined by election times. Supply and Demand.

Anyway, if you would take a look into recent years gas prices rise in the summer and fall in the winter. Supply and Demand.

Also, if gas prices had kept up with the inflation of everything else it would be $9+ dollars a gallon. Supply and Demand.

I'd say it's a good bet.
Then again, they still get the money if they don't hold all the seats in congress, that may be more important.

Richard:
So Bush will get credit when the price drops to a dollar again, or is your memory so short?

Stupid Americans let me SPELL the reason why oil prices go up and down if you haven't noticed this before I feel sorry for you

SUMMER= oil prices rise, because people vacation and travel more!

WINTER= back to work not traveling as much (carpooling) prices go down

I just paid $2.33 per to fill up. I guess since the left blamed Bush for higher gas prices he should also get credit when they drop.

If you think that this government has anything to do with the price of oil then your statement in regards to your stupidity has some validity.

So you are implying that the free markets are easily and regularly manipulated by the government(s)? If governments around the world (incl. the U.S.) are manipulating and controlling the commodities futures markets around the world, we are in a load of trouble, you think?

Grow up.
