The pill you have is Allopurinol 300mg. Manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals. You can search for any imprint on a pill or capsule on RxList.com. This drug in particular has had no tests done as to whether the drug increases with potency or decreases potency beyond the expiration date. Not knowing how long ago you lost the pill...I would advise you to destroy the pill.

Imprint Code: M71
Drug/Strength/Manufacturer: Allopurinol 300mg - UDL
Description: M 71 / Mylan - Tablet

If you don't know what it is, don't take it. That description could be any kind of pill. Worse, the pill could be expired.

Either throw it away or take it to the pharmacy and ask if they can identify it.

How in the world did it get out of the bottle? Next time leave it in the bottle until you are ready to take the prescription as prescribed.

What is allopurinol?

Allopurinol reduces the production of uric acid in your body.

Allopurinol is used to treat gout, increased levels of uric acid caused by cancer treatment, and kidney stones that are caused by high levels of uric acid.

Allopurinol may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Throw it away. That is your safest bet, it could be one thing in specific or a million. Pitch it.
