i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

It doesnt matter what one thinks of Steve Irwin, be it you liked him or you didnt. He made a living just like most of us do. The sad part is the 2 children he leaves behind. There is no doubt they will know there dad in stories others tell as well as the tv show but not in a personnal relationship like you and I have with our father. Kind of makes you appreciate your dad alittle more and one cant help but see how we take family for granted.
Bindi Sue 8 and Bob 2 are the ones who will miss out the most. So it doesnt matter what you think of him or his death or the show, the bigger picture is his family. A loss is a loss be it your family or someone elses.

I was in disbelief and shock. It saddens me. The world lost a special person. He made educating people about animals, wildlife and conservation interesting. Unfortunately, these days it takes a lot of "dramatic" effects to get people's attention. I feel especially sad for his wife and children. He seemed to be a very caring and involved father and husband. At least he died doing what he loved doing and that he had expereinced so much in life -something so few of us actually do.

Very sad and depressing. He loved doing what he did, and he left this world with a loving wife and 2 children. not to mention his fans around the world. I think everyone is sad about this, especially his wife. you could see in Steve's episodes that they loved eachother sooo much. I'm very sure that Steve wasnt ready to go. But this is only temporary. We all will see him again when we die. All we can do is pay respect to his death and just know that its not the end.

I think it was very sad and tragic for his family. I don't think he was careless or a show off, I think he was more of a daredevil, like any other, who loved animals and loved to share his knowledge and the ability he had to work with them. R.I.P. Croc Hunter!!

I think it was a tragic accident. It was not the result of going to far in the name of entertainment or something like that. It was just a tragic accident and he will be missed by his fans

I'm surprised it wasn't a crocodile that got em. Seriously though,

Other than the fact that you are the 70th person this week to ask that question on here? I think it's sad.
