My credit is paid off but it still shows a poor score. I'm trying to rent with my boyfriend who has college loans and doesn't have good credit either. What can we do? Please help!

look around and maybe you can find a landlord who doesnt' do credit checks.

I have horrible credit - I have been renting from individuals for the past 12+ years. None of them have ever charged me an application fee or checked my credit. I have found them to be very understanding the few times that I have been late with the rent and have never been charged a late fee.

get a co-signer or look for a house with a private owner so you're not renting from a company who will check.

try renting from a person, as opposed to an apartment complex - they might be more understanding.
