In a nutshell, it is like good sex. All your needs are met. You admire and have confidence in the person(s) providing it. It should be just as much a pleasure for them to give it as it is for you to receive it. It should be pleasant, stimulating and courteous. It should make you feel like you want to come back for more.

C'mon we all know what is bad customer service.
1. On hold too long
2. Getting switched to other departments without listening to the reason for our call
3. When we have a problema and nobody even asks what they can do for us
4. When you're waiting at the bar and the bartender walked by 5 times and did not even make eye contact
5. When the doors don't open on time or close too early
I could name several more, but the truth is that every business has a motto for customer service and good service means that when something is broken it gets fixed and the customer is always right even when they aren't.

If a person treats me like they want to be treated themselves.
If they don't try to win an argument for the sake of winning the argument (and subsequently losing me as a customer)
If a person smiles and looks you in the eye when they greet you.
If (on the phone) a person is able to call you by your name.

In general: if people treat you with respect and listen to your complaint or question with interest and genuinely try to help you.

they're there when i need them. if its the phone. i want prompt service. they stop offering special deals and promotions when i say i'm not interested.
