Play nice if they have children together, otherwise take husband's lead on this one. If he is cordial, be cordial, if he sees her as an evil witch who ruined his life stay clear of her. If he is so nice to her it makes you uncomfortable, ask him why they divorced and get to counseling!!!

In my situation with my husbands ex, I tried to be nice and friendly and have constantly have gotten it thrown in my face by her. The situation is sticky, especially since we have custody of her 3 children. It all depends on the other person and their maturity level. I would not say to become best friends with the ex, but if there are children involved communication is a necessity and the conversations should remain without hostility. Being nice and respectful is different than being friends, there is a thin line there and be careful not to cross it. If there are no children involved, then I believe the lines of communication between you and the ex should not exist.

If there are children, then you should always be cordial.

There is no reason to be "friends" with your spouse's ex.

Maybe. That way you can keep a closer eye on her for sure - in case she wants to try anything on with your h.

Only if you want something from her.....like, information, or visitation rights. In other words, you can be "nice" to use her for anything you might need in the future. I wouldn't alienate her. You might need her info/help one of these days. Godloveya!
