take a bristle brush (not to harsh) and brush the hair that's stickin on the couch into a little pile. It loosens it up...puts it all into one place...and the vacuum will pick it up.
I use a comb or an old brush in the corners of my living room to do this with dog and cat hair...works great.

Usually people would answer "Get rid of the cat" but I won't do that as I have two cats that I often prefer to humans. I find the fastest way is a wet cloth. I wipe it down several times with a wet cloth and that is much faster than a vaccuum.

At pet stores they make special brushes that will pick up hair off of clothes and furniture. They work well. HOWEVER, I'm a firm believer that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If this particular cat has "sticky" fur don't let it on the couch.
By the way that FEBREZE (or however you spell it) really does a nice job of getting rid of the smell of animal hair.

you can get a pet hair remover brush that has a handle on 1 end the other end has a roll of sticky paper on it which you peel off when it is full of hair to reveal a new piece of sticky paper which most pet shops sell or even cheap discount stores. l have used 1 on getting dog hairs off my couch, works great.chinarose

The tape is good. I also lay a small receiving blanket ( or you can use a towel) where the cat lies down the most and she feels it is her spot. Then I throw it in the wash.......
