For me, it's missing somebody and being unable to do anything about it...

Back over the summer my oldest son was at football practice. Since my youngest son had a baseball game that same time, I had my son to see if he could get a ride home. Well, he forgot to mention that the Junior Rescue Squad had a meeting that night and that him and his friend, who is also in the JRS would go straight to the meeting after football. I had the number for his friends cell phone, but every time I called there was no answer. I was out of my mind with worry and fear. I didn't know where he was and I couldn't find him at any of his friends houses. So for me, that was the worst feeling in the world, the not knowing if my son was alive or dead or hurt or okay.

I'd definitely have to say that helplessness is the worst feeling in the world. I hate having to stand back and watch something take place and know I can do nothing about it. It tears me apart.

I think that the worst feeling is when one of your children just beginning to see the world dies before you(the parent) goes.

They say that the pain eases as time goes on, but it never does.
