These days, there are really no compatibility issues with internal components like optical drives (CD/DVD), or hard drives in PCs... so it doesn't really matter what brand you get. I built my computer from scratch, and practically everything inside is from different brands.
You'd be surprised how many different brands of components are inside that "Dell" computer... ;)

The brand doesn't really matter. Any DVD drive will work.

It really doesn't matter, you can use any brand as long as it will connect to your motherboard (most likely IDE). Just go for the features you want.

Go to www.newegg.com and check out their selection; you can see the prices and read the reviews and get the specs. They aren't all alike either in price, features, or quality.
