I can forgive on the outside, and treat the wrong doer with respect after time -- however the wrong doing will always be in the back of my mind and I will always have an ounce of resentment towards that person. Trying to forgive someone for a breach of trust is the hardest -- even if you forgive I don't feel 100% trust can ever be regained.

The Bible says in order to be forgiven you must forgive those who transgress against you. I struggle daily with this. I have to pray first thing to help me get thru the day, you see I have a problem with my son's girlfriend who lives with us. The problem is I can't stand her for all the things she has done. So I have to try to forgive daily. It's so hard, some days I fail but some I make it thru. Really what I have to do is try to see the good in her as much as possible. That's my story on forgiveness.

In fact the one who performs the action of forgiveness is the smartest, and more mature person, coz has realized that having resentments is not productive and makes people sad or mentally sick.

I agree with "Paula T", yes, I can forgive, but you just do not forget, how can you, in a literal sense?

Honestly it has been difficult for me, I was able to until a very egregious act was done to me by my sister and brother. I'm seriously working on it though.
