The real question is "will he know when it is time to go" to which the answer is clearly "no". If he knew that then he would / should have gone. The man has lost respect of the nation and voters who supported him, lost the respect of the backbenchers and activists as well as the support groups that prop up the political party. The man is a lawyer - lawyers lie for a living - therefore Blair is a liar QED. I would have had more respect for him if he had come out and said lets get shot of Saddam rather than the pathetic word games, sophistry and overall lies that were used to justify his pathetic excuse of an existence. This is the man who squandered the first term when a majority enabled Labour to do something worthwhile but were to afraid to do anything more than Tory lite political ambitions; the Home Office is the most draconian ever, human rights under attack from Labour (!?) and a coup in the waiting for Brown to take over (excuse me but did anyone ever ask us if we want Brown to become PM without an election?). Liars, thieves and cheats - he hasn't got a clue. He will be forced out Labour will go into navel gazing wilderness and like the Tories before them will be in limbo for years - some legacy of the most war mongering politician of recent years

Today's news is reporting a departure date of July next year although he would resign as party leader in May and stay on as Prime Minister until his successor is chosen in July. This is all pure speculation though and it comes from a tabloid newspaper that likes to start peodophile lynch-mobs and thinks that a topless woman on page 3 is serious news. So anything the Sun newspaper says should be taken with a serious pinch of salt.
I honestly don't see Blair lasting until July next year. I think he will be gone by Christmas. The pressure on him to stand down now is getting more and more intense.
But he will eventually leave screaming and kicking. They'll have to bodily carry him out of Downing Street. He is obsessed with beating Margaret Thatcher's record as the longest serving Prime Minister.

Tony Blair will be pushed from office sooner rather than later. If I were a betting man, I would wager that he will be gone by Christmas, shortly followed by New Labour. They are a busted flush and the British public are fed up with their style of all show and no substance.

Mercifully, events are now beyond Mr Teflon Blair. Panic has siezed the Labour party. They will eject him as soon as they can. There is not a cat in hell's chance of him spending Christmas in Downing Street.
I wouldn't place too many bets on Mr electrifying personality, Gordon Brown, taking over from this loathsome crook.

That date was not set by him. That was speculated by "the Sun newspaper". He will stay until the political climate becomes difficult for him to survive. At the moment it's just the press hounding him not any political pressure to speak about

The sooner the better in my opinion but you know how stubborn men can be, he won't go until he's ready. I'd like to see him take GWB with him, but that will prob never happen. Its up to the American public to impeach him...........
