Here in Washington State it is not age, but how tall you are or nothow much you weigh. . It is 4 feet 9 inches I believe. If you are less then that then you need to be in one of those certified child safety restrained seats and in the back seat.

Im not sure about a federal law, but in most states, its illegal to put a child in a front seat unless they are of a certain height, not age.
This is because most seat belts are designed to be effective within certain height standards.

Didn't know there was an age requirement. I thought it was a size and weight requirement, like at least 4 feet tall and at least 70 pounds or something like that...

in Kansas its 12. i think that it is different for every state. find out from your local authorities.

the cars say 13 but i've always done it since i was very little anyways its NOT illegal just dangerous
