i am in high school and we are doing a project in desighn to make are own creations based on a beauty company like hair products makeup and perfume we also need our own made up company name so can any one give me any ideas? xx

Think of what your market will be -- teenage girls, older women, twenty-year old men -- then tailor the name to appeal to that market. For instance, if your product is cologne for guys, you probably wouldn't name it something like 'Lovely'. You would probably give it an 'extreme' name so that guys will feel 'macho' buying it and wearing it. Likewise, if you were trying to appeal to women, you might not give it a harsh name like 'Axe' because you're selling something that is supposed to make women feel more 'delicate' and 'ladylike'. Think of it this way: you're selling an idea, not a product. You're marketing an attitude that a certain segment of people want applied to themselves. The geeky guy puts on the Axe cologne -- women flock to him. The average-looking woman squirts herself with Chanel, suddenly Prince Charming can't keep his eyes off of her. That's what you're selling -- generally not a product, not a service, not a tangible object. You're selling feel-good-feelings that everyone wants to be able to associate with themselves.
Figure out what idea you want to sell and work from there.

One way to design a name is to decide what you want the name to convey about your company.
For example, Clairol, is about clarity of hair color.
Kleenex, is about a clean olfactory.
Target is about hitting the mark on price and quality to appeal to middle America.
What you are describing is a broad offering in beauty supplies. Your target customer is a woman that wants to improve her looks. A name like "Imagine Beauty".

If you are creative enough to do a project in design making your own creations I dare to think it's not a stretch that you will come up with a good name on your own. Then you can appreciate that it was all your idea.
