Only if you tune the intake system to match the flow of the exhaust. Modern engines are set for optimal performance with whatever comes on them. Increasing the out flow increases the in flow and sucks more gas.

No it will not save you gas because it does not open the flow. If you want to improve milage using the exhaust system then you need to change the headers 4-1 preferably and change the piping to a larger diameter and have an exhaust with a larger end to it. This allows the fumes to be exhausted easier. A high flow cat will also help some.

Maybe. There is no way to provide an answer that fits all cases. In general, reducing exhaust backpressure a LITTLE may provide a slight power boost at higher rpm ranges. Whether this translates into improved gas mileage depends on how you drive.

Assumming your glass muffler has bigger diameter than your stock you still have air restriction from the headers and the rest of the exhaust pipe. You will not gain in performance nor fuel economy.

It's the fact that a exhaust system is """ free flowing "" that creates a difference,,,,the less restriction in the pipe,,, the better the performance,,,keeping in mind that a little bit of back pressure is required for compression

The theory is that there will be less effort to expell the exhaust, but be careful as engines are designed to operate most efficiently with a set backpressure so changing the stock exhaust system often worsens the performance and fuel economy.

We had glass mufflers on our old truck it didn't save us money on gas, granted that was a truck, but there was still no gas savings involved.
