If you are Indian citizen then no transit visa requires, usually visa is required for transit as well, If you are flying to Nepal by the same airlines you flown into India then the airlines will make an arrangement, otherwise it's advisible to obtail visa prior travels, Indian Immigration is would make problems and ask for bribes and make things complicate.

As far as I know, transiting doesn't require a visa since you're never leaving international soil. You only need a visa if you decide to enter the country (meaning try to pass through the emmigration gate). You should call the airline you bought the ticket from and ask them about your flight.

I don't know about India though. I've never transited through there.
