Our team has been working together for more than 1 year now. It is just our weekly meeting and we are now taking turns each week to chair it. Just would like something different ;)

Always start with an ice-breaker... and spot a few quick quizzes in during the day just to break the monotony

First, you must bring food. This is NOT an option. Then, the old standby of a funny anecdote will start the meeitng off on the right foot. Remember to only make fun of yourself, not a co-worker. If you can, you might bring some special note pads or pens to give everyone to take notes with. Break the ice by telling them that you have heard there is a new threat in the workplace called DEATH BY MEETING, and you want to avoid any casualties, so you will try to keep it short and to-the-point. If you will be brainstorming, take a hackysack or ball with you and toss it to whoever gets the floor. When they are done talking, they can toss the ball to someone else, who then has the floor. It may seem a little childish but the attendees will lighten up -- and be less likely to interrupt each other. Good luck!

Well, it might help to have some more information. Is this a team which has been working togehter for a period of time already? Do they all know each other? For on-going work, or special project? All from the same type of department or various backgrounds?

If theyare people who haven't always worked together, perhaps you have a breif introduction from each person explaining who they are, why they are invloved, and also have them share some piece of information about themsleves that no-one else there might know.

But more importantly, make sure you have a nice clear agenda for what you want to accomplish, and stick to your timeline. People do like meetings that take longer than planned.

Do some gentle aerobics

Bring a porno film in and discuss the different positions

Give them a couple of puzzles and maybe some brainstormers - should be easy to find on the internet

Spike the coffee with something - Ex-Lax maybe?

Video the England game and do a tactical breakdown of the moves

Make your opening speech a rap!

Go in dressed as a bullfighter and do a flamenco performance on the table!

Play naked Twister!

Hire a huge flat screen tv and watch The Office on DVD as a guide on how not to run Team meetings!

Hide under the table for 5 minutes and then jump out and surprise your team!

Run in with a n Uzi and gunn them all down!

I have loads of ideas but I bet you don't like any of them.

Tomorrow? Not too much of a chance to scare up ideas, unless you have one of those ubiquitous team building manuals.
Role playing is always an activity that can be interesting and keep people on their toes. Good luck.

Have the meeting in the morning and not afternoon as people's attention is weeker towards the end of the day.

Have it ouside in a quiet location, away from distractions, and not in the office.
