a cousin once removed is your first cousins son or daughter.
your children would be their children's second cousin

actually, there are no 2nd cousins, 3rd cousins. The proper way is cousin, cousin once removed, cousin twice removed, etc. People do this because its easier.

Once removed means that they were kicked out of the family for a while and then let back in.

The first/second/etc indicates who were siblings. 1st: your parents. 2nd: your grandparents. Etc.

Removed means you aren't the same generation as each other. So your 1st cousin's child is your 1st cousin once removed. Your 1st cousin's grandchils is your 1st cousin twice removed. Etc.

A cousin is your mother or fathers sister or brother children where a second cousin is where there children have children and they become a second cousin
