I never use EBAY. I go on craigslist. www.craigslist.com
They are local, free to post and answer ads, and you are selling locally so you don't have to mess with shipping, unless the person lives an hour or more away from you.

I think Ebay is one of the best Internet inventions. I have sold and bought. As long as you are honest about your product, ship right away, and leave good feedback for your buyers/sellers, you will do great.
The fees are expensive, I think. But worth it. You will have money in your account before you know it!!
Pictures are most important. Take at least one to post on the site, the more the merrier though. Also make sure you list it as a gallery picture. People like to see them as they are searching, and they don't want to click on it to see the pictures. You will have the option for a gallery picture. It is more expensive, but well worth it.
Also use PayPal. It is so important. Many people will not buy from you if you don't accept it.
Best of luck!!

eBay is the largest online marketplace and one of the most popular ways to earn an income from home with a PC and internet connection. Selling on eBay is inexpensive and easy to start. Ebay has a number of tools for sellers to maximise sales. These are eBay Pulse, Hot items report, merchandising calendar. By sourcing products at a low price, you can increase your profit. I found it infuriating . EBAY aggravates me. Buyers just love waiting until the last possible moment to make a bid and it's always for the bottom price. You'd be better off going to a consignment shop for kids or teens and selling your daughters clothes there.

Sell on eBay. That's went good for me. As for their fees - buy some of their stock - then you are making money even when they charge you for selling stuff.

I tried to sell some of our kids clothes, but I don't think it was really worth it...would rather donate to church or something.
We have done very well selling window treatments there though...been selling vertical blinds and other types of blinds for a couple months now and it has supplemented my income.

Then have a garage sale. It's really not that expensive to use Ebay, and you have the possibility of getting more $ for your items and you have the possibility of more people seeing your items.
