Footballer (soccer) is generally the most physically fit sportsmen
as it requires the practise of continuous sprint of 20 odds kilometers.
For this answer the appearance of the footballer is sufficient.

Different types of fitness. Footballers are definately more aerobically fit, but cricketers have much better endurance. To be standing around and walking back and forth at low intensity, then suddenly explode to dive for a catch or go for a run out takes a high degree of endurance. I don't think most footballers could suddenly burst forward, run fourty yards and bang the ball in the net, after being on their feet for six hours....

Football players are fitter as compared to cricket players because their excercises are more hard to do and moreover becuase of being a short game, all the players are always on their toes running from one end to another, which is not in cricket.

I think football is a more demanding sport. So, on an average, footballers are likely to be stronger and with better stamina.
