Yes it's still around (sadly)
I live in Arkansas and they are really prevalent here. They hold marches in a town about an hour from me. We all hate them.
Most people find them annoying and are embarrassed of them. Of course you have the "red necks" who support them, but my state is moving into the new millennium slowly and we are having fewer and fewer "red necks". I'm praying they disappear by the next decade.

Sadly, they are still active. Most of their activity is in the southern states. Add Texas to the ongoing list. Most KKK activity is in the eastern part of the state. Vidor (east Texas, near Louisiana) made the news in Houston a few years ago because they were trying to kick all non-whites out of town.

Though the organization continued some of its surreptitious activities into the late 20th century, cases of Klan violence became more isolated, and its membership had declined to a few thousand. The Klan became a chronically fragmented mélange made up of several separate and competing groups, some of which occasionally entered into alliances with neo-Nazi and other right-wing extremist groups.

Yes, the Ku Klux Klan is still active in certain parts of the United States.
I do not know where they have the biggest concentration of member ship but there have been outbreaks of this disease in Indiana, Louisiana, etc.
