The majority of the people I meet or encounter at University tend to be well let's not mention it. I just wonder why it is that the kind of people who interest me are not around. I feel so out of place. I have so much on my mind and I question what good it is going to do me by putting questions up on the internet.

Your standards are way too high when it comes to finding "cool" friends. Keep in mind that when you go to college, there are other commitments- studying, typing papers, staying on top of assignments, whatever. There are "cool" people out there. The definition of "cool" is respecting yourself and others, keeping your priorities straight, and staying out of trouble. You have to be yourself and that's what's cool to me. Since you feel out of place, mingle and meet new people. Get to know them first and see what that person is all about. Good luck on finding "cool" friends.

maybe your standards are too high. Coolness is for show-what really makes someone interesting is who the are when they arent trying.
