Age can be just a number, but there are times when people are entering different steps of their lives (college, career, children, etc.), which can put a damper on a relationship between two people who a big difference in age. If the maturity is the same and their lifestyles match, I do not see age as an issue.

Yes and no... Age, though just a number, is subject to social stigmas such as the dirty old man/toy boy stereotypes. Some narrow-minded, brainless prats - uh, I mean some people - tend to think lower of you just because you have a big age gap between you.
Not that you cared, though, which is good, and you were happy together, which was what really mattered.

Age should not have a darn thing to do with it as far as I am concerned. What is most important is if there is real love.
if you loved each other then you must have been happy with the relationship. gets me how people condem age difference. heck, know many who are the same age or little difference that are in deep relationship problems ending up splitting and in divorce courts.

How come you're asking this when you guys had such a good relationship despite the age difference. Yes, age is just a number. It takes two people to make a relationship, not two people of a certain age. Sorry for your lost.

I really do believe age is just a number....My husband is 10 yrs older than I and I am evermore happy. In my book age is mind over matter.... if you dont mind then it dont matter...
