I went there for my brother's wedding about 38 years ago we had a wedding breakfast at the Blarney Hotel and it was very good. The only other things I can remember are a B & B where she really overcooked the eggs and that the streets were very dirty, lots of paper, packaging etc.

Mercury Lounge, Long Island, The Wash, The Bailey - Bars
Currens is a really nice restaurant, popular too so you would want to book it in advance, Malinos is nice too. There are so many restaurants and cafes just walk around and pick one that catches your eye!!

During the day: Ring the Shandon bells, go shopping, maybe you could drive out to the countryside Blarney is near or take a trip out to west cork very beautiful! More ideas:http://www.whazon.com/

You should go the last weekend in October when it's the Guinness Jazz Festival and the whole place somes alive with great music. Otherwise for a regular weekend there are heaps of great bars and market type shops. Just get lost in the alleys.

everything and everything is great in cork, day and night, just go investigate and enjoy, don't plan things, if you haven't got a b&b yet phone my friend on 00353214317489 ask for betty the place is called aisling b&b, you wont regret it, just say kevin gave you her number. oh and as someone else said cork jazz weekend is excellent, but book b&b early because they get busy.
