Ladies: The Ultimate Challenge: Traveling with only a carry on and no liquids and gels?

Ladies who travel as often as I do, I am trying to reinvent how I travel and looking for some help. So, can we find make up which will travel, on board in a carry on.

We can use bare minerals for foundation and powdered blush and eyeshadow. We can use pencil lip stick and eyeliner. Or the kind of eyeliner that mixes with water. I am stuck on the mascara. Is there a mascara that mixes with water? Any better ideas on the lips? I will miss my gloss.

Is there a powdered toothpaste? I remember one as a kid. Otherwise we can get shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste in small sizes at the hotels.

Would love everyone's ideas, because I hate to check my bags.

I don't know of any powderd mascara. Try using a waterproof one that don't smear or smudge and maybe you can get away with wearing it for a few days. I used to use a little baking soda as a child and it worked fine but you can't take that on the plane. You could find a dollar store nearby and buy a trial size and leave it behind. The other answer to this is if you know which hotel and when you'll arrive why not mail your items to the hotel ahead of time and call to have them look out for your package to arrive. If you travel and stay at their hotel alot then they will more than likely be happy to hold your package till you arrive.

Its very difficult to do. Watch our for the foundation, if its liquid, you'll need to get rid of it. You can bring powder on, but no mascara, no lipstick or lip gloss. You either have to check your bags or buy the gels at your destination. Keep in mind that you won't be able to fly back with them as carry on either.

well not wearing it would be a great choice! but you can carry that stuff just not on your carry on! not like a plan is a saloon anyway!
But lipstick can be placed on a sheet of paper folded up just put a glob on there.. and use your fingure! same thing for gloss too! you know like the samples they have in magizens!
mascara maybe if you take it out of the tube and wrap it in plastic wrap tightly but that may make your mascara go bad quicker.. but it would be best not to do that! i would just apply before you got on the plan!

Fed ex your stuff to your hotel the day before you leave and then send it back when you check out. Just tell the hotel that you are expecting a package and have them hold it for you if it arrives before you check in.

Back in the day before 9/11 we used to ship stuff to hotels that would couldn't take on the plane back then either.

I remember WAY back in the day, toothpaste used to be solid. You cut of a piece and it turned in to foam on contact with your saliva. It was absolutely disgusting but it did the job.

Good question...do they check your purse? I guess so.. but you answered your own question...just put your stuff in a bag that can be checked in.
