Did ancient tribal woman once wear coconut shells on their breasts when in battle ?

It's possible, but I think it's rather unlikely. The areas where coconuts grew weren't very heavily populated, and besides I expect they'd be quite uncomfortable and probably not even that good as armor.

They wore sea shells, because D shells were just too big.
