How about some guys putting in their views on this too. These women should realize what great tv ratings this would be. If you think its too disgusting to watch, then don't watch it and let the guys enjoy it.

Everyone here who is crying like they knew the guy make me sick. This is a guy who became famous basically because of wildife voyuerism. Everytime he tempted death we watched. Is it really wrong for me to root for the animal. Can't nature ever win and sometimes beat man? Does it have to have a happy ending? I want to see his death - show the video. I'm mostly surprised he lived this long. This is a guy who flaunted Darwin's Law. You ain't the fittest anymore - Steve Irwin, RIP you big idiot.

I heard a news report this morning that he had said at one time if he ever died doing what he did and it was caught on video that he'd want it shown.

I have to wonder if he would really mean that, knowing that when his children got into school, the other kids would be googling the video and making spectacles out of his kids. Or even have it in the public domain where his children could see his death online.

And if you think that men would want to see it more than women, then I have to say that you're probably not much of a man. None of the *men* I know would get any satisfaction from watching a tragic end. Some of the *boys* I know would probably enjoy it, but not the men.

Then again, I suppose you're someone who enjoys things like "Faces of Death," right?

I don't think it's a surprise that he died, and he lost a lot of my respect when he endangered his child in the croc pen. But would I wish that others could be "entertained" by his death? Hel! no.

It's important to remember, Mr. Irwin's statement that he would want the camera to be still watching if a big croc was taking him down no matter what the video quality shot was.

Now, I have something very similar to this in my own family. During a fatal car accident, my cousin called on her cell phone her home phone. At he funeral, her roomate asked us if we wanted to hear the recording of her getting in the car accident and dying. We had a lot of questions because there was rumour that she was being chased by an ex boyfriend who was drunk. Here's the point, we wanted, as the family, the choice to listen to it. When it came down to it we didn't, but at least we felt like we had the control of if we wanted to hear this strange recording. It was supposedly of the car hitting and her screaming and all. But nothing on the tape would help us understand, from what we were told, if she were killed by freak accident or on purpose. When we heard it was just of her screaming, we thought in disgust, "NO!"

As the family, we were upset that someone would go to the funeral and not ask just us but anyone interested to come over to the house and listen to the SAVED recording. We felt like Sharon was being exploited.

I think if the family feels that the world should see it, then fine. I wouldn't show my son the footage if there was a censor warning, but I do have faith that the family would have a reason to show it because of Mr. Irwin's actual description of how he wanted more than anything to have the video rolling if it were a croc to take his life, for example.

But, if the family vetoes the decision to show it I definately understand why they wouldn't and could respect their decision, either way. Remember what Mr. Irwin was all about, and still remember that we haven't seen the footage. It might be possible that the film isn't a detailed footage type of vision that we have in our mind. I would like the family to have the decision in this.

I heard Steve's wife is talking with InDemand pay per view to air a tv special showing the video and having all of the proceeds going to the Australia Zoo. I know I would watch it. And it could make a great deal of money for the zoo.

Yes, I think it will (but not for a while). I'm a big Steve Irwin fan and deeply sadden by what has happened. BUT these type of things seem to make it onto Tv and the internet.

:-(

Since it's the ownership of his friend and producer, let's hope he will see that it is destroyed after the coroner investigation. He lost a close friend. I doubt he would want the video shown and would actively pursue anyone who by chance got a copy of the video and tried to show it.

Let's hope friendship rules on this one!

I hope not! Of course, someone will get a hold of it and sell it to the highest bidder so while I hope it doesn't end up online or on TV I'm afraid it might. Some people just have no decency.

I heard this morning that once the police and doctors have viewed the footage, Terri has asked that it be burned. I can't guarantee that's 100% true, but I heard it on a news radio station.

This has to be the sickest question that is in answers today........again I will say that it shouldn't be ever shown. If it were your husband, boyfriend or father would you want to release it so the whole world that is full of sickos could see your loved one killed.? Let the poor guy rest in peace and have respect for him and his family.

Oh God I hope not. But these days who knows..I know he was really good friends with the producer and I hope that money wont seduce him into releasing it. Then again they may see it as a scientific warning type of thing and release it anyways. His poor family.
