This may sound ridiculous however this is true! We have a 2006 silverado pick-up. The color is grey (gray) and the only thing that has been done to it is it's been waxed four or five times. Since then, the common housefly's seem to love the truck. Is it the color? Totally wierd,,,no doubt.

its a chemical in the wax that causes it to happen,,they do mine that way,,i use the carnueba wax,,and they go nuts over it,,to them it smell like a certain type food they like,i can drive mine,,and they,ll hang on to it,,it looks kind of weird though,,I'm hoping the cold weather will get rid of them,,good luck,,i hope this help,s.

Actually, if the temperature in you area is starting to turn cooler or is cool and the sun is out and shining, then the most likely reason for the flies attaching themselves to your truck is for warmth....where the vehicle is heated from the sun. They will do the same thing to siding on a house.

Maybe you ran over a dead animal and have meat chunks in the wheel wells. I live in the country so this happens to folks. Steam blast the undercarriage of the truck.

I think it is the big macho powerful thing about trucks! I had a silverado, blue and brown, had the same reaction!
Now I drive a Honda CRV-EX, no one sees me!

Well I could hit you with the its because its a Chevy (I am a ford man) but I wont do that to ya, it could very well be the color flyies are attracted to light colors so are mosquitoes.

some of the ingredients in the wax attract bugs or flies. same as some attract dirt more than some.

flies are attracted to light or refective surfaces..
but that is a little weird..

I thnk it might be color. Try painting it with some other color.
