I've heard that if time travel is ever possible the furthest you'll be able to go back in time is to whenever the time machine was created.
Also if I'm going to put a message in a safe why hasnt anyone visited me yet. It either means I dont ever put the message in a safe, time travel isnt possible, I dont ever have any family or my future descendents dont care or dont have access to a time machine.

Another thing is how much would i cost I dont think I could afford to keep a box in a safe long enough!

You're right that the only method of time travel consistent with what we know today (involving time dilation of only one side of a wormhole) can only bring you back to when the machine was first created. Since no one's created one yet, that's enough of an explanation for now, unless/until science uncovers something new.

The first query would be, have you put the message in a safe deposit box and given out instructions that it be opened by who-ever and most importantly, paid for it?
The theory of time travel where a traveller can go only as far as the time machine is derived on the flow of two points in space and time interacting with each other on a dimension level, time being the fourth, thus you travel to point 1 from point 2 as if u were going from place A to B. However, relativity does not indicate that you cant travel to ant place and time, the only problem is that the fabric of space and time needs to be torn to be able to travel at any point in time which is very impossible to do. Again as either of the above hasnt and taken that you havent put the message in a safe deposit box...the flow of events hasnt occured.

Have you paid enough rent on the safe deposit box to ensure that the letter is still there in the future. If you haven´t then your box could be opened and the contents distoyed.
Had you thought of that ?

If your message is in a safe then it is not guaranteed that your future descendants will know it is there.
Also, they may have access to a time machine, but if what you've heard is true, it may have been built to late for them to vist.

travel is only forward and not back you can visit your desendants but not your ancestors.

maybe they just dont know who you are?
or, they dont become part of events, just observers so they cant touch anything
