Steve Irwin's death is far MORE tragic than Princess Diana's. Irwin actually meant something to the planet, rather than being a simple figurehead or pop icon as Diana was. Irwin has made a difference in the world in a way that will change the lives of many; Diana was a lovely lady, but essentially inconsequential.

I am not from Australia but I believe that it maybe. The death of Princess Diana was felt all over the world the same as Steve Irwins death is felt all over the world. Whether it does or not...........he will be missed terribly and I that he beloved work will continue

Probably more so. Diana was made a big deal of on an almost daily basis but often hated it; had she not married into the Royal Family, she'd probably be just some other person. Steve Irwin, on the other hand, was whom he was and proud of it. (He was called a bloomin' idiot, but that was part of his identity.) Whether anyone loved him or hated him, and there was rarely any middle ground, he took pride in his work.

The stupid princess, or whatever, died in a car wreck. Steve died doing what he did, and made the mistake of pulling out the barb from the stingray. He might have lived if he had left it in. His death was MUCH more tragic, as Australia lost their greatest celebrity, not some silly royal-type.

He was a worldwide figure and he was Australlian. In a way, he was a representative of Australia - their culture, their land and wildlife - to many throughout the world. So Australlia has lost an important recognizable icon. I don't know if it is like Princess Di. The two situations are so different, I don't know if it is even helpful to compare.

they were both as tragic as each other.... they were both the loss of a life.... just because princess Diana had a higher social status does not make her death any more/less tragic... R.I.P Steve and Diana...

princess Di's, she became into an harmless passenger in a automobile. Irwin tempted destiny on a daily basis. I would desire to assert, that i became into no longer shocked as quickly as I heard approximately his dying. It became into in basic terms a count of time for him, nonetheless i presumed that it may be by a snake bite, or an alligator.
