Is it even possible, aside from the lemon law, to return a vehicle purchased from a dealership? If not, any alternatives?

It depends on the dealership. some do allow returns, with some restrictions.

I bought a Toyota a couple years ago, and the dealer allowed returns within 30 days, no questions asked. BUT, you would have to pay a 'restocking fee' of a coupld hundred dollars, and a certain amount per mile you put on the car also. I'm guessing that would pay for them to get the car cleaned and prepped to sell again. Not a bad deal if you buy a car and later realize you cant afford it.

The dealership that I work for (a Ford dealership) has a 3day EXCHANGE policy. OUR policy applies to both new & used & 'demos'. We are not legally obligated to, but we realize that sometimes a short test drive is not enough time with a vehicle to decide if you like it, or if it is a good 'fit' . We have an excellent reputation & have been in business since 1981.

Daimler/Chrysler has recently established a 30 day refund program, however it is NOT without major "cost" to you.
(read the contract BEFORE you sign & drive !)

"Lemon Law" applies only to NEW vehicles & is an agreement between the MANUFACTURER (not the dealership) & the buyer, regarding a defective vehicle, not just because a buyer changes their mind.

So, in answering your question, i would have to say, "yes, it is possible, & yes I've heard of someone returning a vehicle"
It it recommended that you talk to the general sales manager.
REMEMBER: you will only be treated with as much respect and understanding as you give.

I believe you have 3 days to return it. They will try to stall or lie to you to prevent you from doing this.

I think Dodge has a special program now giving you 30 days. It may be participating dealers only.

I did, but it was actually arbitration with the Better Business bureau. Have all of your facts and if you qualify you should win. The dealers rep didn't have any defense at all.
