I know exactly what you mean. I think the answer could be because we get carried away when answering or posting questions. We act like we are small children who can't wait get to a party and make mistakes with our spelling that is normally alien to us.

How sad are we?

Well if there is, he's correcting, not creating, your spelling mistakes....not many people can spell embarrassed properly.
