according to an independent report i read by cunsumer reports there is no significant differences between the various brands of motor oils. synthetic oils might cause poor performance if there is internal leakage in the engine.you might want to try an oil designed for high milage vehicles

No, it really doesn't matter which brand as long as you stick with the same brand all the time. Oils are quite similar but they have small differences in them. Such as cleaning agents, etc. I drove a Mazda truck for 385k miles on Valvoline 10-40. Only in a rough situation did I put another and then it was castrol.

I think all name brands are good and would not have a problem putting any of them in my cars. These include Valvoline, Castrol, Quaker State, Pennzoil, Mobile, Shell, Texaco and even boutique brands like Royal Purple. I do recommend using a full synthetic oil. In my experience, synthetic oils last longer, get slightly better gas mileage and have protected my cars from engine repairs. Most name brands also have synthetic oils and you can feel confident using them.

YES
A cheap oil will burn off quicker and than you'll think your car uses oil..
A good oil will last longer,,,I think in the long run buying a good oil(Brand) will also make your engine last longer..

No, I don't think it matters, but once you have picked one brand and type, stick to it.
I've always been told that changing is bad for the motor.

In my opinion the brand doesn't matter. You should choose a quality product though and one that is right for your vehicles age and your driving habits.
