Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers because I feel Tom is an outstanding musician and would enjoy hearing about his career from start to present. Mike Campbell could teach me to play guitar, as well.

Well, it would probably be some Finnish band, couse I like their music verry much. If I could realy choose HIM. Why? Couse I like their music and I like the singer along with the whol band.

hard to decide. i can sing, but i suck at playing guitar right now. i can't decide. here's a list though:
LINKIN PARK: simple guitar part, vocals and turntables.
GOOD CHARLOTTE: basically same reason, and the 2 frontmen are brothers and came from the same family situation that i did.
RISE AGAINST: i couldn't do anything but headbang and yell, cause they have way complicated instrumentation for a beginner, and they only have one singer and practically no backup vocals, but they are my favorite band and they ROCK!
thats it. do i deserve best answer?

First choice would have to be BOSTON. Their distinct sound and vocal harmonies place them in a category all by themselves.
