Hopefully the abomination will never get built. The cowardice of the people in charge of rebuilding the site is staggering. In every poll I've seen more than 80% of people want something like the original towers rebuilt. Not some panzy 70 story mockery that spits on the memory of those that were murdered there.

Sorry about the rant. To answer your quetsion: no, I don't think they will. If the Freedom tower is built it will be a symbol of victory for the terrorists. A permanent reminder that we can be terrorized into changing our lives and submitting to the terrorists. The Freedom tower is a huge white flag of our surrender, why would they target that?

I am sure that the neo-cons will have already looked at that scenario.

Then again, the use of airliners as missiles against the 2 towers and the pentagon was drilled prior to 911, so the lies that condaleeza rice came out with show thay could have avoided the whole thing.

They just needed to follow established procedure that day.

I sure it will probobly end up being a target someday. However, I think the next thing terrorist try to go for will be something even more vulnerable and something we wouldn't expect them to hit.
