Colleges are expensive depending on where your from and what kind of colllege you want to go to. For example, if you live in a particular state in the USA, the you can get state tuition which in some cases is about half the regular fees. But you have to have lived in that state for at least 12 months.
There are also community colleges/ 2 year colleges which are cheaper and you can always transfer to a four year college after that.
However, to get into college you need to write your SAT's which has a verbal section and a math section. It isn't too hard if you study your butt off for it. There are books and disks you can find online and in bookstores that can help you out.

Good luck and all the best with everything.

it all depends on the college or university you are looking at.
there are state schools, private schools, community colleges....all differ in price and admission difficulty.

for example:
not everyone can get into Yale, however, not everyone can afford Yale. it's Ivy league and therefore you have to be REALLY intelligent or else REALLY loaded and sometimes that isn't even enough.

state schools are usually the middle ground. they are good colleges and universities that are middle priced, if you live in state and have borderline admissions.
example:
i attended penn state university. i was from pennsylvania, so i got in-state tuition and i think it was about $10,000/yr. something like that.
i looked at a school in north carolina and being out of state i could get accepted, however, it would have been about 2-3 times as much as penn state. so, i went to penn state!

now, there are community colleges that will take pretty much anyone and often times you can pay per credit or an annual tuition...

so, that's about all i can give you without knowing more info.

take care and good luck!

Most are very expensive but state schools are subsidized by each state for people who live in that state... some are still expensive but others are very inexpensive...

admissions tests are standardized tests that all college applicants take but each college sets its own requirements of how well you have to do... they also look at other things too like your grades in high school and your participation in sports and other outside activities....

Unfortunately they are VERY expensive, especially the private (non-state owned) schiools. There are some financial aid programs available.
