Leonardo da Vinci created napkins read tthis blog
A question I have about Leonardo da Vinci
Did he really invent spaghetti? Gee, it was the first thing I ever learned to cook. How fitting.
that picture i’ve uploaded is his spaghetti machine, he kept inventing all sorts of machines, and legend has it that he went everywhere with a black wooden box with his machine in it. He even slept with that box near his bed. However, when he died, the box was empty, it’s not know whether it had always been empty or someone stole what was inside. And he was a vegetarian and, apparently, he also invented napkins and fancy ways of folding them. All this is in a book, i cannot remember exactly the name, something like Leonardo da vinci handnotes.

Napkins have been around since the Middle Ages when stylish folk stopped wiping their mouths on the tablecloth and started providing individual linen squares for themselves and their sloppier guests. Napkins became a common sight by the 1800’s.
