Is the progam a failure? Here's why. I was in Wal-Mart the other day and the woman in front of me had two carts stacked with groceries and 3 young boys. She started unloading the food and I was watching. All the food she unloaded was soda, chips, cookies, etc etc all junk food. No meats or vegetables at all. She spent 343.00 on junk food with our tax dollars.

Wish I can make her go back to the store and return all that junk. See, this is what pisses me off. People like her being messy and taking advantage of the Food stamps when some one else is really starving and doesnt have the food stamps to buy food. Im so mad that I can go pull that biatches hair.

I was in a car accident almost a year ago and still can't go back to work so I had to get food stamps and I still have a cell phone because it costs to much to end the contract so it is cheaper for me to pay that bill than ruin my credit by giving it back. But she spent more in one load than I get for me and my two grandchildren that I am raising. We budget out what we get and spend them carefully on meals that are filling so we won't have all that snack food, but I do get them snacks because all kids need to feel like they can have what others kids have when they have friends over. I do limit how much they can have because it is so expensive and we need what we get to last for the full month. I have been a hard worker my whole life so this was a real change for me but sometimes life throws you a curve and you just have to go with the flow until you can rise above it. I paid taxes for 35 years for this help right now is the only way I can feel about it. Until I got in this position I felt the same way about the food stamps now I have to look at it in another view.

Oh what's really good is when they buy cigarette's and alcohol with cash. Anyway don't get me started on the welfare programs and how it's really unfair to those that make an honest living, not enough to really give their children a wonderful life but too much to qualify for any help. Anyway, I don't think that the government should be responsible for anyone unless they are physically and or mentally unable to work. That's just my opinion. What an abuse of an already horribly abused system.

PS - Did she load the groceries in the back of 2006 Hummer?

Fillet Mignon, salmon, orange roughy, jumbo shrimp, crab, veal...How often do you eat that well? You might if it was on someone Else's dime! The junk food is bad but I could overlook a bit of comfort food...But when my food budget is down to ground beef (for burgers), buns, box mix Mac and Cheese and canned Peas, It frosts my cookies to be behind someone buying steak and seafood with EBT. If they could walk around the store and fill a cart like that you believe in your heart they could work to earn enough to get off the dole.

It all depends on how you look at it. To the person on the food stamps it is a great success! I go on to think about the health bills we will end up supporting because of the junk she is feeding her family. The social programs in this country need a major overhaul. I don't mind helping people that really need help, but we have created a society of modern day slaves that are not even appreciative of the help they get.

If the majority had control & rule junk food would exist! Everyone would demand higher quality standards & control of the money too purchase it! No need for food stamps cause everyone would control their incomes!

Yeah, well, she can do that. Unless they make it a law where you can't buy junk food with foodstamps, she can buy all the unhealthy food she wants. What the grocery stores need to do is start making healthier food cheaper. All of the low-cal and fat-free snacks are so much more expensive!

The Great Society's war on poverty! Yet another liberal democratic success correct? Billions spent and the "poverty" level if anything has gotten bigger?
Maybe America should win that "war" by attrition, end the programs and vote down the messenger.

She needs to get a job and quit spending our hard earned tax dollars on junk food! Shame on her!! People like that make me sick because I work full and go to school full time to provide for my family.... There should be restrictions as to what can be bought with food stamps, to include soday, chips, cookies, etc etc etc. NO JUNK FOOD!!!!!!!! GGGRRRRRRRRRR........................

Everything is bigger in Texas right? Yeah, people like that are too lazy to work and too lazy to cook a healthy meal, they would rather feed their children junk food
