I was always wondering about this, since Birth control pills give you bad side effects like weight gain, it does not protect against STDs and are inconvenient in general. Why do woman put themselves in jepardy using birtcontrols?

You can never be safe enough even with husband not speaking of boyfriend. How do you know he is not cheating. Those are more serious issues than some reduced pleasure. You can never trust 100% unless he is 24/7 around you all the time. By the way I was never cheated on at least that I was aware of.

Actually, in preventing pregnancy, birth control pills are MORE effective than condoms.

But you're right about the STD part.

Mainly, women in a monogamous relationship choose the pill over a condom because many women & men don't like the feel of a condom.

It does not make sense to go on the birth control pill and go around and have sex with different people, not sure of whether they have an STD or not. Most of the time women go on the BCP when they are in a steady committed relationship and know the person and most likely are aware if they have STDs or not.

Condoms are inconvenient, they ruin the moment and reduce the amount of pleasure for both man and woman. If you are a responsible person and can remember to take your pill it is so convenient and worry free. If the pill gives a person bad side effects they can try others and if they still have problems then the pill is just not for them.

I never had weight gain or any other side effects so everyone is differently effected by the pill.

Before my partner and I were even thinking of living together, I was on the pill & he used a condom. We just didn't want to have any chances of pregnancy occuring. I already have 2 boys from my previous marriage. Once we moved in together, we just stayed with the pill, then changed again to film. We are not happy that we are expecting our first child together.

If you are concerned about getting pregnant from a boyfriend, either don't have sex or use more than 1 form of b/c. I would definitely have 1 of them to be a condom. If it's STD's that has you all worked up, the best way to not get them is to not have any type of sexual activity. Oral, petting and so forth can cause bodily fluid to be passed and since this is were you transfer the viruses, you should avoid it.

Pills, if taken properly, are more effective than condoms. They are also more convenient because you do not need to interrupt lovemaking. Not all pills cause weight gain- depends on the type of the pill and how it affects the individual woman.
The added benefit is lighter bleeding, regular periods, reduction of acne, etc. However, I admit they do have some nasty side effects, and many women are misinformed about how to use them. The best bet would be to use condoms AND birth control pills.

The pill is actually much more effective against pregnancy than a condom but doesn't prevent STD's. It's great when a couple is clean and monogamous but I think it's better for women to use both methods.
Remember, condoms CAN break.

guess that the pill protects you whatever happens, like a moment of weakness, lack of cooperation of the partner, or a ripped condom. And given that condom-less sex is better, there is a case to be made, at least within a couple.

now of course the condom protects you not only from an unwanted pregnancy, but also again MST.

condoms take away alot of the pleasure and condoms break either way there are no %100 that you wont get pregnant but on the stds part use a condom if you dont really know the person but on a marriage part no condom just feels better

They are not inconvenient, they put ME in control. Condoms can easily break.

I always used BOTH before I was married, along with requiring an HIV and STD test of my partner before sleeping with them.

now that I am married, I wouldn't use condoms if you paid me. They can break, guys don't like them, and my birth control pill is easily taken EVERY morning, it's not a big deal.

I never gained weight from it, never got moody from it AND it COMPLETELY RELIEVED MY MENSTRUAL CRAMPS

So don't tell me it's ineffective.

Actually Birth control pills are considered more effective as far as preventing pregnancy, but they don't prevent STD as well, I think the problem is that man often feel that a rubber cuts down on sensation.

sometimes a condom ...well u have to stop to put it on i guess... also this way she's more in control so even if (God forbid) you're stinkin *** drunk...you never forget to use contraception as it's already in your belly

I use condoms because the pill had bad side effects...but i do miss the ease of not having to make sure we use something every single time
