If so, how do you make smooth turns on the track. I see the computer movies in the game and it's done so smoothly but when I do it, I'm over here braking too much, screetching, burning tires and cars are passing by because their going around the bend smoothly.

It varies with each car, some cars require more braking, some require less. The only way to know is to keep driving the cars. What I would suggest is to slow down alot going into the turn so you can speed out of it. Start braking well before you start turning, and try to follow the line of the track.

I have. WAHOO!

In video game stores, they have those gaming books for each game. I own all the GT series and still use the first (only) book for quick refreshers on entering turns, "grabbing the line", and accelerating out of the turns.
There are a lot of factors to consider when negotiating a turn:
1) Cars layout ie: FF, FR, RR
2)2WD or 4WD
3) Sharp turn, Gradual turn
4) Does the turn drop or rise?
Those geniuses have figured in a lot of parameters.
I choose a Nissan Skyline for my first car. Used ones are affordable, and they are an all around good car to learn the tracks on. Believe me, some of those souped up cars with all the HP and such are VERY unforgiving.
Do you have a steering wheel for your console? They certainly are better than when I played my first videogames (Early 80's).
They give you a better feel for the road, but you need to set yourself up as you would in a car for best performance.
Hope this helps.

it really does matter on the car your using some are better than others. i recommend you go to the license program in the game and try the first couple of tasks to get your license. some of them are sections on turning
