I guess if a gf had tried this trick on me when I was younger and unmarried, "just to see my reaction", I'd have been pretty shocked. And more importantly, I could have never felt the same again with her. And this could potentially have ended the relationship much sooner then expected.

it seems that, in stable adult couples, women who desperately want a child while their partner doesn't, have sometimes used this trick, leading the husband to think "well if an accident happened, then let's stop all that condom nonsense", leading to fecundation. But again, playing a trick of that magnitude on a partner cannot be without damaging the trust.

In all honesty I think YOU need to take a step back and sit down by yourself and ask yourself "Why?" You would think to want to LIE to him.

Being pregnant is never a joking matter sweetheart NEVER!

Are you afraid of losing him? If he finds out your pregnant? Or do you just want a reaction from him? If it's the latter IE the reaction ask yourself why on earth you would want THAT kind of reaction from him.

You run so many risk's here better to be honest, Ask him!

No, playing mind games is very hurtful. If you want to be a good friend might as less a good girlfriend, be honest and open about your feelings not hurtful.

You could ask him something to this effect,
" I would like to ask you something that is serious but that has not happened yet. What would you do, or want to do if I got pregnant?"

Be honest and truthful. If you start playing mind-games now you will get stuck in that rut and have horrible relationships. Dating is to learn how to interact with the opposite sex, and find a mate not to learn how to be cruel.

That's a very deceitful thing to do. Why do you feel the need to lie to him like that? I have a better idea...Why don't you just tell him his mother is dead. I bet he'll have a great reaction.

Just think...later when he's in the middle of his emotional breakdown you can tell him you were just kidding and that it was all a big joke. I'm sure he'll understand.

BAD, BAD, BAD idea.

Sure, go ahead and scare the hell out of him. He might get all cold and clammy and avoid intimacy with you, but that appears to be your goal.

What if he tells you that he is going to stick with you through thick and thin, he loves and trusts you and wants to do the right thing. Then asks you to marry. And you drop the bomb that you were just fu(king with him?

On the other hand, who is to say he will stick around when you really do get pregnant?

No, your "trick" is a lie and would never be forgotten. I am assuming that your boyfriend trusts you and you earned that trust and feel you deserve it so why would you want to throw all of that away so that you can see a reaction. He would probably never fully trust you again and you would be putting your relationship at risk of ending.

Why would any one do that? Your boyfriend would never be able to trust you again after this horrible type of deception.
And then you'd be on your own with your strange little delusional fantasies.

So that is my reaction to your hypothetical question

NO. Is that your idea of a joke? Why don't you tell him you have cancer too while you're at it. And that you ran over his dog pulling into the driveway. What do you *think* his reaction will be?

No, it will finish you or you'll end up having huge arguements over it, is it really worth it losing your boyfriend over wanting to see his reaction?! Girl come on if you care for him why mess him around ?!

No, the argument when you confess the truth would be horrendus. Watch himclosely and his reaction to other things to find out how supportive and caring he could be :)

Deceit is never fair
