A bucket truck is a truck fitted with a hinged arm ending in an enclosed platform called a ‘bucket.’ The arm can be raised to let a worker in the ‘bucket’ service aerial equipment. The bucket unit is sometimes called a ‘cherry picker.’

A bucket truck survey, would mean one would have to do a survey while in the bucket truck and look over something ( whatever is assigned) and make a evaluation of the work that needs to be done beforehand, for example; taking a look at the site of work before doing the actual job or workers will survey the site prior to positioning the truck to perform work.
