I know that as a woman, I should know the answer to this question...but I don't!
How many days after your period ends do you start to ovulate?? Is it the same with every woman?
Are there any "signs" that you are??

You usually ovulate between days 10 and 14 in your cycle and don't forget that day 1 is the first day of your LMP. Most times you can tell because there is slight cramping followed by a egg white looking discharge. If you have any more questions I found a good site called ibabydust.com that was very helpful.

The "average" is 14 days, however it varies widely. It is NOT the same for every woman. Some women ovulate earlier in their cycle, others ovulate a week or two later than the average!

The "signs" of ovulation include:
*Changes in the cervical mucus secretions-during the most fertile time the fluid goes from dry/sticky to creamy/wet and usually to eggwhite quality.

*Changes in the position and hardness of the cervix. During the fertile time the cervix is high, open, and soft compared to the infertile part of the cycle when it is low closed and firm.

*Changes in the basal body temperature. The temperature goes up about .5 degree during/after ovulation, and remains elevated until menstruation.

*Changes in the level of luteinizing hormone. This is what is detected by ovulation test strips, the level "peaks" the day before ovulation and gives the best indication of fertility.

*Changes in the saliva, visible as a "ferning" pattern under a microscope when it dries. There are several companies that make a special scope for women to check the saliva to determine fertility.

I recommend getting the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler to learn more about your fertility signs.

I believe it is more or less on The 14Th day after your menstrual period ends. Yes, it is the same for all woman. Women sometimes might have a skip in ovulation due to some type of medical problem(s), no egg to ovulate, weight change, or stress. Some of us women have no signs, but others secrete a clear jelly like discharge when ovulating, some even cramp/feel discomfort.
