Yes I do. I just experienced something at my job the past couple of weeks that justify why I do so. My secretary, had a massive heart attack at the age of 49, she was in the hospital for a week and finally passed on. When she was placed in the hospital my boss went to check on her, but I realized it was really only to see whether she would make it or not. When the brain scan came back and stated that 80% of her brain had hemmoraged and they were going to take her off life support and that she was not going to make it, he came back to the office and started clearing her things. He threw away all of her nick nacks, her cups.... 10 years worth of gifts she had been collecting. The only thing he kept were the family pictures, which he took to the family on the day of her funeral.

This made me realize how much you are valued at a place. So. If I am sick, I am taking my days. If I am stressed, I am taking some vacation. And I am going to use all that is given to me, because If I work myself to death, I will be replaced that next week.

Absaolultly NOT!

you only take sick days if these apply to you:
1. you where injured and your doctor says you cannot work
2. you have a cold or something that you dont want to give to your fellow teammates
3. you are feeling feeverish

Personal days are such as PTO wich is paid time off. that you accumilate hours you can use to take time off while you work.
But you wil not get paid for those hours you take off. because you are useing your PTO

Vacation days - yeah, since it's a perk of the job
Sick days - no,since my boss frowns upon that practice of using them if they aren't necessary, and I too don't like to abuse the system
