Because the leaders are not put into power by the people. They are carefully selected and groomed and trained by a very powerful elite who (through their shareholdings and advertising revenue) will not allow any candidate get close to being elected into a position of real power. You only get to choose between candidates that have already been selected and OK'd by the people behind the major media and the corporations. So you get to choose which globalisation loving corporate war mongering prostitute you would prefer. people who will not 'stick with the program' are so massively ridiculed by the media, they do not stand a chance of getting any where near power, and as soon as anyone they select develops a conscience, they are outed and removed from office, before they can endager the agenda.

a real leader duznt listen to his people and goes ahead with what is right. that's why we elect them, to make decisions from a vantage point.
leaders today listen to the conflicting wills of the confused masses and end up going from A to B and then back to A whichever the people want at the time.

Perhaps Saddam shouldn't have invaded Kuwait, and perhaps the terrorist shouldn't have killed over 3000 in the US and thousands more around the world. You can scream at our government all you want, but I would recommend you direct your energies to those that are causing the strife. After 40 years of terrorist attacks I think its time for us to track those ba$tards down and kill them.

People are responsible for their own government.
To solve a problem you have to acknowledge it's true cause, and you have to think of solutions.
Acting to affect change has to be done in community.
You have to want good for all.
