Wireless internet has suddenly stopped working on my laptop. The other computers in the house can still connect to the net via the wireless connection so it is a problem with my laptop. The internet connection is set for wireless in the internet options. I'm really confused- does anyone know how to fix this?

Is your wireless turned on? Look for either a switch on the side or a function combo - on mine it is Fn+F8.

The Fn button activates the purple functions on the F keys up top. Look for the one that is ((i)) - that's the wireless.

This could be caused by MANY factors.

Spyware, Adware, Virus, Faulty Wireless adapter. The list goes on. You'll need to run a process of elimination and eliminate all possibilities.

First thing I would suggest, since you cannot get on the internet to downlaod any Spyware removal programs. Do a system restore.

Click Start, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore. Restore your computer to a previous date.

Do a virus scan (I use Norton) and spyware sweep with Adaware. If these are clear, check your wireless adaptor or lan card (I have an adaptor that has a green flickering led, which only comes on if its working). If nothing's wrong there, check the router network settings are all in order.
