Great reaction as the sweeteners react and cause the carbonation to erupt. It's not dangerous - the worse it could do if you eat a mentos and then drink the diet coke is to have the worst cause of projectile SPEW you could imagine.

Great for a prank if you can slip one into someones diet coke and get your hand out of the way before it froth's all over the place.

(Not recommended if you can't run at least a little faster than the person you do it to)

Have read it in a newspaper before. They have tried it before and it is like a "fountain", right? If I have not mistaken, they are trying to mix more mentos with more diet coke and tried to produce a "fountain attraction"! I have not seen but I would like to see one.

well, let's face it, anything mixed with coke or pepsi is going to explode or corrode......in the 70s there was an anti-pepsi jingle about it...including the expression "gut-rotting"....

My son and his buddy did it in our driveway last week. It was amazing! Stand back and watch it reach 15 feet! Not something you want to try in the house! haha...have fun.
