No.
The most influential factor to a child's immorality is their parents. It is the parents that blame their childrens behavior on outside influences that are the problem. A parent cannot be around their child all the time so it is important to teach their child how to act and think for themselves so they can live life and when presented with opprotunities, they make the right decisions

The simpsons id the most successful, longest running animated sitcom in history. It is a groundbreaking show that is better and more entertaining than most shows and all reality shows on T.V.

Children should be able to watch a show, but not be so morally, and ethically weak that they act a fool due to an idiots behavior they saw on t.v.

No. That's like saying Tom and Jerry encouraged children of the 60s and 70s to beat each other up. Every generation points to one form of mass entertainment (whether it be cartoons, computer games, rock music) and use them as the scapegoat for all of societies ills. Then they get studies and statistics to try and prove this. Other people have blamed societies ills on many other things; including: bad parenting, parent's having too many children that they can't cope with or afford, rich parents palming children off onto nannies and who then feel neglected, mothers who working and not spending enough time with the children, single mothers who don't work and live on benefits, neglect of children due to drug and/or alcohol abuse, drug dealers openly doing business in neighborhoods and children being encouraged to experiment.

I could go on. But to say that The Simpson's causes immorality!!! It depicts a loving,2 parent family. Neither Homer nor Marge ever cheat on the other, Homer has a job, neither Marge or Homer has ever been involved in prostitution or porn, neither have Bart, Lisa or Maggie. OK so Homer likes beer and donuts, but he is not half as bad as Barney and the rest at Moe's; who are clearly all losers. I wish my family had been more like The Simpsons when I was growing up. So what's the problem?

Absolutely not. In fact in many episodes, the Simpsons gives a great moral lesson at the end of the episode, albeit there are a few adult jokes inbetween.

The fact is that "The Simpsons", much like many other movies and shows, is a piece of art. You can choose not to watch it and you can choose not to let your kids watch it, but (even though you did not imply censorship) censoring it for all adults and children is absolutely wrong.

Children are going to hear about sex and fowl language from fellow school mates who heard it from their alcoholic abusive parents over any show you can watch on tv. To shield them from these things will only make them more ignorant to social behaviors in society and cause them to be... well... dorks.

1) Heck no. Immorality in children is a result of a parents lack of teaching what is right and what is wrong.

2) All of the Japanese Cartoons that are shown in America late at night, are in fact Childrens' shows that are shown at normal times in Japan... and they're doing just fine.

3) I've been watching Simpsons from the beggining. I am now a Grad Students who teaches English as a second Language, happily married, and one whom wants children... I think I've turned out fine.

4) We as Americans, for various reasons, tend to be afraid of thing we don't truly understand or is different from our individual norm. For example: Soda was once thought to be as bad as Alcohol, Showing your ankel was too revealing, The rock star Alice Cooper was once thought to be the devil... but now tame by todays standards.

So, back to your question. No!!! Parents are just getting lazy and relying too much on quick fixes, such as drugs. Parents, blame yourselves!

If the kids are watching it, then it could be, but it is the parents job to monitor what they are watching on television and make sure the are not watching anything inappropriate for them. There are much worse programs on television besides the simpsons, and parents should deffinetly be making sure that their kids aren't watching anything that is too old for them.

I don't think we can blame any show or celebrity for the delinquency of children. If parents were more attentful to what their children viewed or listened to then the risk of these problems would decrease.
