This old friend of mine met a girl he talked to on myspace he is 22 and she is 14 the night they met they had sexual relations that was video taped..He KNEW she was 14, later that week I saw him with hickies all over his neck from this girl, the moment I found out she was 14 I called his parents and went through many cycles to find her Aunts phone number, I contacted her. No one seemed to care!! He started to hang out with a group of underage teenagers and served them alcohol...so now statutory rape and serving to minors. He was pulled over one night for speeding, these teenagers were in the car with him drunk from the alcohol he had given them and his relationship with this 14 year old was no longer a private matter. He was arrested and put in a cell for ONE night..(did I mention his parents are rich?)

He went through the system and had conditions to stay away from this 14 year old, He didn't and was caught because he cheated on her with a 15 year old!! So that should be two counts and serving to minors...but because his family is rich and willing to pay everyone off this pedophile is leaving with 2 years unsupervised probation! He got 10,000 dollars back pay from his job and will now be working with me and around children? How can this be? Why am I not allow to protect myself from contact with a pedophile? Why is the "system" so flawed?

She did press charges! She went to court and sat there and told everyone what happened...she is a child. And yes everyone seemed to change their opinion about the situation AFTER he was being charged with this..

wow...yeah he was charged for it and got probation...he wouldn't have been arrested for it if it weren't illegal......

You didn't say what state this was in. Unfortunately, there are some states where the Legal Age of Consent is 14 (Hawaii, Idaho, and South Carolina). If you live in any of these states, the reason he hasn't been prosecuted, is because it is not illegal. If you live in any other state, then he should have been arrested. Even if the girl gives consent, that is why it is called "statutory" rape, because it is against the statute, even if the girl consents. The only way this case can be made though, is if the parents bring charges which it sounds like they don't plan on it. The only thing you can do, working with him, is to be cautious of everything he does and keep an eye out for the (other) children in his presence. I don't know that telling people will help because, if he finds out (and since his family is rich), he could come after you for slander. Good Luck!

NOTE: I could be wrong on the Age of Consent, because some states require the male to be under age 21 for the consent to be 14 and 16 if the male is over 21).

UPDATE: Sorry, I thought when you said he was arrested and spent only one night in jail, I was under the assumption that it was because of the serving alcohol to minors and not a statutory rape charge. You didn't mention about the girl going to court before.

UPDATE: I agree, this is ridiculous! He should be in the system as a sexual predator and not be allowed to get any job that puts him around children.

Bad news all around. Here's the problem: He can't be nailed for statutory rape unless the victim (the 14-year-old girl) files a complaint. You said no one seems to care, so the chances of that happening are slim. You can try reporting him to the police, but they probably won't have the manpower to watch this guy and wait for him to pull another bonehead maneuver like he did recently. The only way someone other than the victim could nail this guy is if the police somehow got a hold of that video tape showing him and the girl having sex...

First off, he's got a problem if he can't find a girl his own age. I'm mean really, 22 and 14? I'd report him to the police yourself. Especially if he's going to be working around children. And I'd tell your boss. That's just so wrong on so many levels.

Then to the moron who thinks girls like a little d%%% and you should mind your business....you should be reported to. Just because a girl has sex with someone doesn't mean she knows what she's doing she's a kid and isn't making informed decisions. He probably told her the crap that he loved her. And he should have some kind of restraint. Please...you are probably 40 and have a 12 yr old girlfriend. YOU should be turned in too.

I know money talks, but this is ridiculus. If the courts can be bought that easily, I can't see what recourse you would have. You stated he videod his relations, that means, child pornogrphy is also included. I'm assuming you live in the US, so can you not bring this to the attention of Child Protection Services. In Canada, it would come under Children's Aid. But our system obviously works differently and I would hope the SOB would be arrested and taken off the streets by now. Our Crown Prosecutors are appointed and are far more difficult to buy off. Good luck.....

He might have spent a night in jail for the alcohol but if you tell the police about his having sex with the 14 year old, and taping it, he'll be spending a lot more time in prison. There are confidential tip lines you can use, but get something tangible before you try to get results on this, like a list of names, or other specifiics. Good luck give him hell

I'm 22. I know a relationship with a 14 year old girl is big no-no. 18 and older. He's fortunate he's not looking through metal bars right now. He should be.

It sure is upsetting..thing is the "victims" dont seem to find this as a problem (the girl he had sex wit) or maybe they are not wise enough to understand the consequences so do the others.
But what ur "friend" does is completely wrong and whether its aginst the law or not depends on the place you live.

I wouldnt consider him a friend and keep an extra eye on your chidren. I think at 14 girls dont know what they want. Her parents should be in jail too. Especially if they didnt care that the daughter is having sex at 14.
